Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Designer for the Core Design Systems team within Global Marketing in New York. You will maintain and evolve the enterprise design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability across digital products, and collaborating with product designers, engineers, and stakeholders.

You will design cross-platform components in Figma, document design system standards, and advocate best practices through governance processes. A strong portfolio is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years as a System Designer and 2–4 years as a product designer.
• Expertise in Figma and maintaining design libraries.
• Knowledge of design tokens and design system workflows.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with WCAG and ARIA accessibility.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Portfolio required for interview.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and evolve cross-platform component libraries in Figma.
• Refine designs based on user feedback and insights from cross-functional teams.
• Educate and advocate for the design system within the organization.
• Write, document, and define scalable design system requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering partners to implement components based on design specs.
• Partner with designers and frontend developers to ensure smooth implementation.
• Support governance of the design system and contribution processes.
• Ensure accessibility and usability standards are met by default.
