Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Design Specialist to contribute to electric distribution design projects, both underground and overhead, and to support planning, permitting, and documentation from scope to construction.

You will use AutoCAD, O-Cal, SpidaCalc and GIS mapping to draft plans, specifications and reports, while coordinating workload and field visits up to 20% of the time. A technical degree or related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in electric distribution design drafting/CAD tasks.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, O-Cal and SpidaCalc.
• Experience with GIS mapping software.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Assist in producing plans, specifications, reports, diagrams and engineering documents from preliminary scope to construction status.
• Submit, manage and maintain permits as required by project needs.
• Manage workload and projects and assist field teams with data collection and coordination.

In this role, you will utilize design software to perform basic design engineering tasks, supporting both underground and overhead electrical distribution projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for submitting, managing, and maintaining permits as required by project needs. Your role will include managing workload and projects, as well as assisting in the production of plans, specifications, reports, diagrams, and engineering documents from the preliminary scope to construction status. Travel is up to 20% of the time for field visits, project data collection, and construction coordination and verification.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with electric distribution design performing drafting and/or CAD design tasks
• Advanced experience with AutoCAD, O-Cal and SpidaCalc
• Experience utilizing GIS mapping software
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical degree or other advanced education, training or certifications related to engineering design projects
