Brief Description

The Sales Engineer is a dynamic, hybrid role that seamlessly blends sales acumen with deep technical expertise, specifically centering on Design Software and Drones for the Architecture, Engineering, Geospatial, and Construction (AEC) industries, with a strong emphasis on Civil Engineering. You'll be the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the sales cycle, playing a pivotal role in driving deals to close. This position demands a strong sales-oriented approach, where you'll focus on understanding client needs and expertly articulating how our technical solutions directly address them.

Working closely with Sales Representatives, you'll develop and execute technical sales strategies, while also being heavily involved in technical closure activities, a process that will require frequent client meetings and on-site visits. Beyond client-facing responsibilities, you'll contribute to vendor management tasks, optimizing our product offerings. Depending on customer needs, your focus in this role could lean more heavily towards either sales or technical support. This role is part of a teaming commission split arrangement.

Shift Time: 7:45 AM- 4:15 PM

Responsibilities Include

  • Solution Presentation & Sales Enablement:
  • Develop and deliver compelling technical demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients. You'll translate complex features into clear, tangible benefits that drive sales, showcasing the value of our solutions, including enterprise drones, in a persuasive sales context.
  • Technical Sales & Client Engagement:
  • Collaborate extensively with sales teams to analyze client requirements, identify technical challenges, and recommend tailored products or solutions. This includes investigating new technologies to align with customer needs and actively participating in client discussions to advance the sales process. This will also involve the sales of enterprise drones for Geospatial applications.
  • Technical Closure & Client Relationships:
  • You'll be deeply involved in the technical aspects of closing deals, often leading technical discussions, addressing client concerns, and building strong relationships that facilitate a successful sale. Expect frequent meetings and visits with clients to ensure technical alignment and secure commitments.
  • Software Training & Technical Support:
  • Provide essential training and technical support for key software solutions, with a strong emphasis on Autodesk's AutoCAD and Civil 3D. The ability to obtain and maintain Autodesk Certified Instructor status is required for this role, though this certification process can occur after your hire.
  • Technical Sales Strategy Development:
  • Continuously refining and implementing sales strategies that highlight the technical advantages and applicability of our product suite, ensuring our sales approach is technically sound and persuasive.
  • Vendor Support & Collaboration:
  • Coordinate vendor management tasks, including evaluating product offerings, liaising with vendors for technical support, and streamlining vendor-related processes to enhance our sales capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Autodesk AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) experience.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial workflows and drone technology in a professional context.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently for client meetings and site visits.
  • Our clients are typically surveyors, civil engineering firms, infrastructure contractors, and land development professionals.
