Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an energetic Exterior Design/Release Engineer to join our growing team. You will lead the design and development of exterior components and assemblies across the organization, contributing to innovative vehicle design.

With a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 8+ years in vehicle design, you will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to meet performance, cost, mass, and manufacturability targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 8+ years of vehicle design experience in interior and/or exterior trim.
• Knowledge of design considerations for plastic/composite components.
• Excellent communication and team-building skills.
• Broad knowledge of NHSTA/FMVSS requirements related to exterior components.

• Responsible for the design and development of exterior components and assemblies.
• Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets.
• Manage all aspects of exterior component development to meet project requirements including performance, cost, mass, timing, manufacturability, etc.
