Job summary

Stellantis Financial Services is seeking a Roof Systems Design Release Engineer to own the design, development, validation and release of sunroof components for our vehicles. You will drive end-to-end work from concept to production launch, ensuring functional objectives are met.

Responsibilities include DVPR testing, change management, BOM maintenance, prototype and production support, issues management, and CAD model management in Teamcenter.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/mechatronics/electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in sunroof systems or similar mechanisms.
• Proficient in GD&T and advanced CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Experience with power top or sunroof components.

Responsibilities

• Own design, development, validation and release of sunroof components.
• Lead DVPR testing and manage design changes.
• Maintain BOM and support prototype/production builds.
• Lead issues management and root cause analysis.
• Manage CAD models in Teamcenter and drive weight/cost reductions.
• Support plants and field warranty issue resolution.

Job description

The Roof Systems Design Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the engineering, design, development, validation, timing and production release of sunroof systems. The Engineer will have end to end ownership of their components and ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives. Responsibilities also include: component design, development, and packaging; Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing; change management; bill of material maintenance; prototype and production build support; issues management; CAD model management in Teamcenter; weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives; and communicating technical product status to management. Additionally, supporting vehicle assembly plants for any product technical issues, support service teams for any field warranty issues and help in root cause analysis of the failures.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related degree field
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in sunroof systems or similar mechanisms
• Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work autonomously, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, team-player, and attention to detail
• Mechatronic component design and release experience
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficiency in advanced CAD software such as NX, CATIA or SolidWorks
• Experience in power top, convertible top or sunroof components
