Job summary

Vernet Group is seeking a Design Quality Engineer to ensure quality across the product lifecycle, from development to serial production. The role serves as the primary interface with customers on quality topics and drives deployment of customer requirements, APQP/PPAP activities, and continuous improvement to meet internal and external specs.

The position emphasizes risk analysis, qualification validation, and creating robust control plans, with a focus on REACH/ROHS/IMDS compliance and evidence

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAIR, D/PFMEA, Control Plans
  • Experience with SPC, MSA, capability analysis, and risk management
  • Problem-solving expertise (8D, root cause analysis)
  • Excellent communication and customer interface skills
  • Strong project management and prioritization abilities

Responsibilities

The Design Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality throughout the product lifecycle, from development to serial production, while acting as the primary interface with customers for quality-related topics. The role includes deployment of customer requirements, management of APQP/PPAP activities, resolution of customer issues, and implementation of continuous improvement actions to ensure product and process compliance with internal and external requirements.

Key Responsibilities / Responsabilidades clave:
  • Deploy customer quality requirements during product and process development
  • Create and maintain Project Quality Plans
  • Lead APQP activities and ensure compliance with customer requirements
  • Perform risk analysis, Defect elimination plan, Design and Process FMEA
  • Validate prototype builds and product/process qualification
  • Develop control plans and First piece Last Piece check list
  • Ensure compliance with REACH, ROHS, IMDS requirements and other regulation and give evidence to customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requisitos:

3 years of experience in the Quality Department within aerospace or automotive industry.

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAIR, D/PFMEA, Control Plans
  • Experience with SPC, MSA, capability analysis, and risk management
  • Problem-solving expertise (8D, root cause analysis)
  • Excellent communication and customer interface skills
  • Strong project management and prioritization abilities
Physical Requirements / Requisitos físicos:
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for over 50% of day
  • Frequently moves safely about the building to conduct business
  • Constantly must wear common protective or safety equipment – ANSI Z87.1 2003 standard safety glasses are required in plant
