Job summary

HDR’s Tampa office seeks a Design Principal to champion design excellence and lead complex projects across multiple offices. You will guide initial concepts, mentor teams, and ensure client satisfaction while managing budgets and schedules.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in architecture, 7+ years of PM experience, and a registered architect credential, with strong communication and travel willingness to support HDR’s community-focused mission.

Qualifications

• 15 years of related architecture experience with demonstrated design leadership.
• Minimum 7 years of project management experience on large-scale projects.
• Registered Architect with strong local and regional market knowledge.
• Ability to lead a team, guide client presentations and drive project delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts across multiple projects and offices, aligning with HDR’s design philosophy.
• Mentor junior staff and interdisciplinary teams to elevate design excellence.
• Attract and develop senior/junior design talent and coordinate hiring strategies.
• Collaborate with office management and discipline leaders to meet design and budget goals.
