Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will oversee diverse design projects, including pole replacements, Make Ready Engineering, reliability programs, URD design, and new residential services. Your role will involve reviewing designs, conducting site visits, collecting field data, and ensuring projects meet established standards. The ideal candidate will interpret field data, collaborate with engineering teams, and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Manage diverse design projects, including pole replacements, Make Ready Engineering, reliability programs, URD design, and new residential services. Support engineering with design reviews, interpret field data, conduct site visits, and ensure adherence to project standards and training requirements.
  • Provide support to engineering staff with preliminary designs, including reviewing and revising designs.
  • Interpret sketches and field data to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Conduct on-site visits when needed to document and take notes on existing facilities for project scope.
  • Adhere to project-specific processes, company standards, and complete any necessary training, depending on the project or client requirements.
What You'll Have
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in CAD-related design, distribution design, or utility work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (2004 or higher), and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam; experience with Map 3D, AUD, and Civil 3D preferred.
  • Knowledge of NESC, aerial and underground distribution, and Right-of-Way (ROW) research.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision or in a team environment.
  • Bentley or Autodesk Certified training preferred.
  • Supervisory responsibility for 1 direct and 1 indirect report.

Work Environment
  • Work is typically performed in a regular office setting.
  • It’s possible some time will be spent out in the field and on business travel (up to 35% of the time).
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • May require working overtime as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen, walking in the field, documenting notes on tablet, or paper.
