Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced Design Phase Executive to guide design stage with a focus on customer experience, finance, and schedule. You will mentor teams, manage budgets, and ensure design alignment with the execution plan.

Strong communication and leadership are required to drive complex projects across locations. The role offers two levels with pay ranges; compensation varies by experience and location, and relocation or incentives may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field.
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to fulfill development responsibilities for complex projects.
• Detail orientation to manage multiple project tasks.
• Risk management skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office and project software skills.
• Positive attitude and strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to communicate Mortenson policies effectively.
• Experience leading integrated project teams and design-build work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners during design phase.
• Oversee project budget, scope, and associated communications.
• Manage overall project schedule through people management and achievement tracking.
• Ensure regulatory approvals and permits are obtained.
• Align design documents with project execution plan.
• Resolve technical design and specification concerns.
• Review project margin plans and develop financial strategies.
• Establish and monitor project success factors for all stakeholders.
• Create an integrated team experience through role clarity and communication.
