Job summary

Renewyx in Los Angeles is seeking a Design Manager to lead the CAD and modeling team for electrical and renewable energy projects. Hybrid role with up to 30% travel.

You will run the department, set technical standards, plan workloads across C&I conceptual through permit sets and utility-scale PV/BESS design, and mentor designers from entry to senior levels. EPC or design-build experience is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing multiple engineering teams.

Design Manager, Modeling and CAD, Los Angeles Metro (Hybrid)

We are hiring a Design Manager to lead the CAD and modeling team for a growing electrical and energy contractor working across two project types: C&I work carried from conceptual design through a full permit set, and utility scale solar plus BESS work at the preliminary design stage.

You will manage a full bench of designers, entry level through senior, plan workload across both portfolios, run design and gate reviews, and set the technical standards the whole department runs on. Reports to the Senior Design Manager. EPC or design build background is a big plus.

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years in electrical or renewable energy engineering
• 2+ years managing multiple engineering teams at once
• Hands on with AutoCAD and Bluebeam, PVsyst or HelioScope a plus
• Comfortable with a hybrid schedule and up to 30% travel

Salary: $135,000 to $155,000. Based in the Los Angeles metro area.
