Job summary

SB Energy, a SoftBank Group company, is seeking a leader to oversee hyper-scale data center projects from due diligence through construction administration. The role requires background in electrical or mechanical engineering and strong client communication to drive multi-site programs.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in data center design management, Lean Six Sigma certification, and proven leadership within mission-critical sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalency of experience/education.
• Experience with data center design management & engineering.
• Lean Six Sigma Certification.
• Active or recent leadership in data center and mission-critical trade organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center due diligence and design teams to deliver projects meeting client requirements across disciplines (architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, ICT, BMS/EPMS).
• Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans.
• Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
• Proactively manage and communicate change throughout the project.
• Identify problems early and develop creative solutions.
• Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
• Develop technical and financial proposals for data center design projects.
• Develop trusting relationships with client stakeholders/buyers.

Basic Function:

The qualified candidate will oversee hyper-scale data center projects from site due diligence, campus planning, conceptual/schematic/detailed design through construction documents, and construction administration. The ideal candidate has experience managing the design of colocation and hyper-scale data centers, has a background in electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, and possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead data center due diligence and design teams to deliver projects that meet the client’s requirements, on schedule and to a high degree of quality. Design disciplines will include architecture, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, security, fire protection, ICT, and BMS/EPMS.
• Develop and enforce multi-site project and program management plans.
• Host and attend meetings with clients and external stakeholders.
• Proactively manage and communicate change throughout the project
• Identify problems early and develop creative solutions.
• Proactively communicate with all stakeholders to provide project updates and resolve outstanding issues.
• Develop technical and financial proposals for new and add/move/change data center design projects
• Develop trusting relationships with client stakeholders/buyers

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Experience with data center design management & engineering
• Lean Six Sigma Certification
• Active or recent leadership in data center and mission-critical trade organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Base Pay:

$150,000-$200,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams. The compensation range provided reflects base pay. Total rewards may also include performance-based bonuses, equity grants, and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
