Job Overview

The Design Manager, Consumer will lead all aspects of conceptualization, development, and implementation of innovative experiential store designs. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong 3D visual skills, capable of balancing creative excellence with operational practicality. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver store solutions and environments that reflect our brand values, provide exceptional customer experiences, enhance customer engagement, and contribute to T-Mobile's strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Concept Development: Ideate and produce thoughtful retail design solutions aligned with T-Mobile’s brand values, business requirements, and strategies.
  2. Design Execution: Oversee and participate in the design process from initial concept through construction and final implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to business goals.
  3. Brand Consistency: Ensure all store designs align with T-Mobile’s brand standards and create experiences that delight customers, adapting designs to regional or market-specific needs.
  4. Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate closely with merchandising, marketing, construction, operations, and vendors to create cohesive store environments that showcase the best of T-Mobile.
  5. Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet timelines and budgets. Coordinate with external partners, review and approve design documents, specifications, and drawings.
  6. Operational Excellence: Ensure designs comply with local codes, ADA regulations, and company standards. Supervise the production of detailed design documentation.
  7. Perform other duties/projects as assigned by management.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or relevant experience (preferred).
  • At least 3+ years of experience in design management within retail, hospitality, or restaurant design industries, or similar roles (required).
  • 3+ years of experience creating 3D visuals, renderings, and store designs in Revit and SketchUp for commercial projects (required).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and visualization software such as Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Vray, Enscape (required).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (preferred).
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA compliance, and commercial space regulations (preferred).
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget (preferred).
  • Excellent visual and spatial design skills (required).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality (required).
  • Knowledge of retail construction, fixtures, materials, and finishes (required).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits

Base pay range: $86,000 - $155,100. Corporate bonus target: 15%. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience. Employees may also be eligible for annual bonuses, stock grants, and other benefits. For specific pay details based on location, visit this link.
