Job summary

Dynamic Systems, Inc. seeks a Design Manager to lead the design function for its Off-Site Manufacturing division, handling mechanical (HVAC and plumbing) scope from concept through modularization, detailed design, shop fabrication packages, and field installation drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• 8+ years in mechanical HVAC/plumbing design or detailing.
• 3+ years leading a design/BIM/VDC team.
• Experience designing prefabricated/modular mechanical assemblies.
• Expert proficiency in Revit and Fabrication CADmep/ESTmep/CAMduct, Navisworks, AutoCAD.
• Strong piping, sheet metal, and structural support design knowledge.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with customers and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead modularization strategy and define module boundaries, breakpoints, transport envelopes, rigging/lifting provisions, and site connection points.
• Develop modular design packages—P&IDs, general arrangements, piping isometrics, structural frame/skid drawings, hanger and support details, and bills of material.
• Produce and release shop fabrication packages (spool drawings, weld maps, cut lists, nesting) to the fabrication floor on schedule; manage revision control and as-built close-out.
• Coordinate design with engineers of record, structural engineers, and customer engineering teams; resolve RFIs and drive design decisions to closure.
• Enforce compliance with contract drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Drive design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly practices to reduce shop hours, rework, and field labor.

KeyResponsibilities

DesignLeadership

OwntheOSMBIMexecutionplan;setmodelingstandards,LOD400detailingrequirements,andRevit/Fabricationcontentlibraries.

Runmulti-tradeclashdetectionandcoordinationsign-offformodules;ensurefield-readymodelsfeedlayout,fabrication,andQA/QC.

Drivedesign-for-manufacturinganddesign-for-assembly(DFMA)practicestoreduceshophours,rework,andfieldlabor.

TeamManagement

Hire,develop,andmanageateamofdesignengineers,modelers,anddetailers;setpriorities,reviewwork,andmanageworkloadacrossconcurrentprojects.

EstablishdesignKPIs—hourspermodule,drawingreleaseon-time%,rework/ECNrate,RFIcycletime—andreportthemmonthly.

Buildstandards,templates,andalibraryoftypicalmoduledesignstoacceleraterepeatdata-centerproductlines.

Preconstruction&ProjectSupport

Supportestimatingandbusinessdevelopmentwithconceptualmodulelayouts,quantities,anddesign-hourestimatesduringpursuits.

Participateinprojectkickoff,constructabilityreviews,andfactoryacceptancetesting;supportcommissioningwithdesigndocumentation.

CoordinatewithProduction,Quality,Procurement,andProjectManagementtoaligndesignreleaseswiththefabricationscheduleandmaterialleadtimes.

RequiredQualifications

Bachelor'sdegreeinmechanicalengineering,ArchitecturalEngineering,ConstructionManagement,orequivalentexperience.

8+yearsinmechanical(HVAC/plumbing/processpiping)designordetailing,including3+yearsleadingadesignorBIM/VDCteam.

Directexperiencedesigningprefabricatedormodularmechanicalassemblies(skids,racks,CRAH/CDUmodules,pumppackages,piperacks)forconstruction.

ExpertproficiencyinAutodeskRevitandFabrication(CADmep/ESTmep/CAMduct),Navisworks,andAutoCAD;workingknowledgeofAutodeskConstructionCloud.

Strongcommandofpiping,sheetmetal,andstructuralsupportdesign;abletoreadandapplyprojectspecificationsandindustrycodes.

Demonstratedabilitytomanagemultipleconcurrentprojects,meetreleaseschedules,andcommunicateclearlywithcustomersandfieldteams.

PreferredQualifications

ProfessionalEngineer(PE)license.

Datacenter/mission-criticalprojectexperiencewithhyperscalecustomers.
