Job summary

FITS is seeking an experienced Design Services professional in the Engineering area to lead design standardization and capital project delivery for pharmaceutical facilities. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 8+ years’ pharma/logistics facility design experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and preferred EIT/PE licensure.

You will coordinate with PMs and A/E firms, ensure regulatory alignment, and drive efficient design reviews and schedules across multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical facility design.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • EIT or PE license preferred.
  • Experience in GMP or regulated environments (pharma/biotech).
  • Experience in large capital projects (EPCM / Design-Build).

Responsibilities

  • Lead in the identification of applicable Engineering Design Standards, Functional Standards, Specifications and Regulatory guidance.
  • Overalldesigndelivery for capital project(s).
  • Coordinate all design activities for the Project Manager during design phases, delivering conceptual and basic design reviews.
  • Develop and maintain design requirements and schedule to meet project needs.
  • Participate in selection of A/E firms and coordinate with them to develop earned value progress systems.
  • Expedite design decisions and coordinate information flow between the design team and system owners.
  • Ensure design meets approved intent through collaboration with design firm, specialists, disciplines, and end users.
  • Examine inefficiencies and develop strategies to improve design hours and project outcomes.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Supply Chain and (8+)years ofexperience within the pharmaceutical, large-scale facility design, warehouse or logistics facility design.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish).
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)
  • Shift: Administrativeand according to business needs.
  • Experience in:
    • Large capital projects (EPCM / Design-Build environments
    • Experience in GMP or regulated environments (pharma/biotech).

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)

  • Participate in the selection of the A/E firms.
  • Coordinate with A/E firms to develop earned value progress systems to measure progress by discipline (monitor work versus invoice amounts).
  • Expeditedesigndecisions and coordinate information flow between thedesignteam and system owners.
  • Be responsible for ensuring thedesignmeets approved intent through interactions between thedesignfirm,designspecialists, engineering tech center disciplines, and end user/customer.
  • Be responsible fordesignactivities and governance, resolvingdesign-related problems.
  • Examine areas of inefficiency and develop strategies for improvement to direct thedesignteam to meet or improve on thedesignhours plan.
