Target Corp invites you to join its Owned Brand Design team as a Designer Intern in Minneapolis, starting Summer 2027. You will work on home, apparel and Fun 101 categories, translating ideas into CAD illustrations and presentations while learning from design leaders.

This entry-level internship offers project ownership, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration with merchandising, sourcing and development teams, culminating in a formal presentation of learnings to design leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Product Design or related field.
• Strong portfolio showing design process and visual communication.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support product, trend, color, material and competitive research to inform concepts and direction.
• Translate ideas into CAD illustrations, hand sketches, technical sketches, layouts and presentation materials.
• Assist in developing product concepts, colorways, patterns, prints and material stories for assigned category.
• Help prepare design specifications and communicate details to internal teams and vendor partners.
• Participate in team critiques and milestone meetings, incorporating feedback to refine concepts.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Sourcing and Product Development to align on assortment strategy and feasibility.
