Job summary

The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is seeking a Design Intern for Fall 2026 to assist in the architectural design process and develop presentation graphics for client approvals. This role offers hands-on experience with exciting projects and opportunities for mentoring.

The ideal candidate should be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a strong GPA, problem-solving skills, and basic Microsoft Office knowledge. The position is temporary and full-time, set in an employee-owned company culture.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry.

Responsibilities

Job description

Design Intern (Fall 2026)

The Design Intern will participate in the architectural design process, develop alternative solutions, and produce presentation graphics to communicate concepts to clients or agencies.

• Offer real‑world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of an Architect, Project Manager, or other professionals
• Participate in the architectural design process, and develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics used to communicate concepts to client or for agency approval
• Follow through on design development drawings and models, and collaborate with production staff for technical details and completion of construction drawings
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry

Required Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
• Must possess strong problem‑solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
