Job summary

The University of Kansas in Lawrence is seeking instructors to teach courses in Design (Industrial, Graphic, Illustration, Animation, Photography, Interaction Design, or UX) for the Fall 2026 semester. Appointments are for one semester, renewable, and may be part-time or temporary.

Instructors will develop course materials, create lectures, grade assignments, advise students, and maintain office hours. A collaborative approach and current engagement in the field are required.

Qualifications

• For Undergraduate: MFA in appropriate discipline (NASAD) or BFA with 5 years' relevant experience and evidence of outstanding achievement.
• For Graduate: MFA with record of research, scholarship, or achievement in the field.
• Formal degree alignment with accreditation and institutional standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Design areas (Industrial, Graphic, Illustration, Animation, Photography, Interaction Design, UX).
• Develop course materials, syllabi, lectures, and assignments; grade student work; advise students; hold office hours.
• Collaborate with colleagues and adhere to department, school/college and university policies.
