Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking qualified educators to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation, Photography, Interaction Design, or User Experience. Appointments are one semester, renewable, and may be part-time.

Positions are adjunct and non-tenure track, with renewal contingent on need, funding, and performance. On-site work at KU Lawrence Campus; background check required and eligibility to work in the U.S. is mandatory.

Qualifications

• For Undergraduate teaching: M.F.A. in appropriate discipline (NASAD or equivalent) or B.F.A. with 5+ years of professional experience and evidence of achievement.
• For Graduate teaching: M.F.A. in appropriate discipline (NASAD or equivalent) and a record of research, scholarship, or achievement in the field.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Design (Industrial or Graphic Design, Illustration, Animation, Photography, Interaction Design, or User Experience).
• Develop course materials, syllabi, lectures, and assignments; grade student work and advise students.
• Maintain current practice and collaborate with colleagues while adhering to departmental policies.

Education

M.F.A. in appropriate discipline (NASAD or equivalent accredited terminal degree)

B.F.A. (NASAD or equivalent accredited degree) + minimum of 5 years of professional practice/teaching

M.F.A. in appropriate discipline (NASAD or equivalent accredited terminal degree) for Graduate Level
