Oceaneering Houston is seeking a senior CAD designer to create and modify detailed drawings for complex aerospace components, assemblies, and fixtures, including TPS-related hardware. You will produce layouts using CREO, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD while applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and NASA JPR 8500 standards.
Work with mechanical, softgoods, and electrical engineers, review tolerances, support ground prototypes, and ensure drawings meet program requirements.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to create and modify technical drawings of complex components, parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies. Individual errors will directly affect, to a moderate degree, the overall pace of novel product development, production, quality of product, and overhead costs for programs/products. More specifically, this position will support the development of softgoods products, such as Thermal Protection Systems (TPS), and mechanical/electromechanical products, such as mounting fixtures. TPS is used for rockets, in-space cargo vehicles, and human rated flight vehicles, to protect launch vehicle components and structures from the high heat resulting from launch and return. This position is in direct support of NASA, DoD, and Commercial aerospace customers and includes the development of ground prototypes, test fixtures, and operationally certified products for ground use, earth orbit, cis-lunar orbit, and lunar surface.
