Job summary

Moog Space and Defense Group is seeking a Design Engineering Manager for onsite leadership in Blacksburg, VA. You will plan and direct all design activities for new products and support heritage lines, building a multidisciplinary team and guiding engineering execution.

You will report to the Electro-Magnetic Engineering & Research Manager, travel as needed, and drive product development and process improvements in a dynamic, performance-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
• 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
• 3 years of leadership experience.
• Excellent project management skills, including risk mitigation, budget control, and schedule tracking.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort presenting to senior leaders and customers.
• Ability to travel to customer sites (internationally and domestically).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct all design activities for new products and provide technical support for heritage products.
• Support manufacturing to ensure operational readiness.
• Build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team for analyzing requirements and developing designs.
