Job summary

Eaton Corporation's ES AMER ESS division seeks a Design Engineering Co-op to support the design team in improving existing products and developing new designs. The role involves working with mechanical and electrical engineers to finalize drawings and implement product improvements, including involvement in DFMA and cross-functional collaboration at Richmond-area facilities.

The position requires active enrollment in an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s program, U.S.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering major.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Work with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to ensure successful completion of design drawings and design drawing updates.
• Assist Design Engineering Team with the development of process and product improvement ideas based on feedback from customers, suppliers, and production teams.
• Participate in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) process.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on implementation of product improvements.
• Investigate transformer test issues and provide root cause analysis documentation to facilitate resolution discussions.
