Pave Talent, hiring on behalf of our client—a fast-growing, 25-person aerospace-component manufacturer—seeks a hands-on Design Engineer eager to own the full product-lifecycle, from concept through qualification and transfer to production. The environment is small-company, all-hands, where engineers split time between CAD and the shop floor.

About the Employer

Our client is a privately held aerospace supplier serving military and commercial platforms. Operating in Southern California, they combine reverse-engineering agility with rigorous aerospace compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead design projects from concept vetting to product launch, ensuring cost, weight, and robustness targets are met

• Create 3-D models and detailed manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks and deliver high-quality technical data packages

• Integrate CNC programs and partner with Manufacturing Engineering to transition designs to production

• Develop qualification test plans, oversee testing, and compile certification reports

• Tackle shop-floor problem solving through hands-on prototyping, teardown, and measurement work

• Collaborate with Sales and customers to capture requirements and present value-added solutions

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

• 5+ years’ design-engineering experience (3-4 years considered with strong portfolio)

• Aerospace or defense background preferred

• Mastery of SolidWorks, GD&T, and reverse-engineering methods

• Eligibility to work on ITAR-controlled projects (US citizen or green-card holder)

• Ability to thrive in an agile, small-team culture and “get hands dirty” on the floor

• On-site collaboration in a tight-knit engineering team

• Base salary $90 k – $120 k plus ~10 % discretionary bonus

• Growth path as the company scales in 2025 and beyond
