Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a Design Engineer to support mission critical systems within a design services environment.

You will develop detailed telecom pathway designs, produce construction drawings in AutoCAD or Revit, manage BOMs, and coordinate RFIs. Requires 2+ years of experience and a BS in Engineering; ability to obtain an active security clearance in the future.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant design engineering experience.
• Proficient in 2D design with AutoCAD or Revit.
• Experience on structured cabling projects (ISP/OSP) is a plus.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop, identify, coordinate, and track project requirements.
• Coordinate detailed telecom pathway designs for inside/outside plant cabling, including BIM and fill calculations.
• Identify, write and respond to RFIs.
• Produce coordinated design/construction drawings in AutoCAD or Revit.
• Create and manage cable run lists and system labeling.
• Identify products, create BOMs, and develop documentation.
