We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Municipal team. This entry-level civil engineering role seeks an EIT who shares our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable, and Beautiful Communities. The role involves assisting project managers and engineers in design and construction activities on municipal projects. The position is open to May 2025 graduates or an experienced EIT with 1-3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction activities on municipal projects
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layouts, research, and draft preliminary reports and feasibility studies
• Help prepare project plans, specifications, and cost and quantity estimates
• Support construction observation activities, including staking, documentation, measuring, testing, and interacting with contractors, residents, and city staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Prior experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation
• Knowledge of CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
• Willingness to travel during construction season
• Valid driver's license for site visits and related travel
