Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer, EIT, to join our Transportation team in our Duluth office. This entry-level civil engineering role seeks an EIT to support our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable, and Beautiful Communities! The majority of your time will be assisting project managers and engineers in design and construction activities on municipal projects. This position is open to December 2024, May 2025 graduates, or an experienced EIT with 1-3 years of experience.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction activities on municipal projects
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout, research, and prepare drafts of reports and feasibility studies
• Assist with project plans, specifications, and prepare cost and quantity estimates
• Participate in construction observation activities, including staking, documentation, measurement, testing, and interacting with contractors, residents, and city staff

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
• Certified Engineer-in-Training or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Prior experience in infrastructure design or construction observation
• Knowledge of CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
• Willingness to travel during construction season
• Valid driver's license

Salary Range:

$58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience and credentials
