Job summary

Top Metal Solutions, based in Adkins, TX, seeks a Design Engineer to support metal fabrication projects. You will ensure drawing accuracy, collect data, track progress, and coordinate with production, clients, and suppliers.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in design or engineering, 1 year of relevant experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Knowledge of GD&T, BOMs, and material selection is a plus. Hurry to join a fast-growing team in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 1 year of design or technical drafting experience in metal-mechanical industry.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (sheet metal and welded assemblies).
Knowledge of fasteners, engineering materials, blueprint reading, and metal profiles.
Knowledge of technical drawing standards; experience with measuring tools.

Responsibilities

Create and release work orders for production and purchasing.
Develop production drawings with tolerances and notes, plus fabrication drawings.
Monitor fabrication process for quality and schedule compliance.
Perform data collection and measurements on products in plant and off-site.
Create 3D models of parts and assemblies.
Collaborate with end users to define designs and provide solutions.
Select materials for new projects and prepare BOMs and cutting lists.
Assist in material quotations and closely track project deadlines.
Communicate with internal staff and suppliers to organize work.
