Job summary

WeldFit is seeking an Engineering Designer in Houston, TX to collaborate with engineers and drafters on design specifications and customer requirements. You will contribute to new product designs, support initial fabrication, and drive design changes while maintaining compliance with ASME and industry codes.

The role involves preparing general arrangement drawings in AutoCAD and Inventor, reviewing customer RFQs for technical accuracy, and managing BOMs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of design engineering experience.
• Experience releasing fabrication drawing packages (3D models, cutaways, and 2D drawings).
• Experience designing pressure-containing equipment or pipeline components is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering design specifications and customer requirements with engineers and drafters.
• Participate in design of new products and support initial fabrication.
• Resolve design related manufacturing problems and initiate ECOs.
• Create and review BOMs and manufacturing drawings for customer approval.
• Plan and execute projects to create standard parts and families.
