Job summary

BKF Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer to join our collaborative onsite team in the California Bay Area. You will support land development projects from concept through construction documentation, working with seasoned engineers to apply standard techniques and sound judgment.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and a California E.I.T. certification are strong assets. The role offers growth within a supportive team, with travel to BKF locations and client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–3 years of site development and design experience for residential/commercial subdivisions, utilities, roadways, and public works.
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D; EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and development of site plans for residential, commercial, mixed-use, roadway, highway, and public works projects.
• Prepare grading and drainage plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and standard engineering practices.
• Create land development designs including potable water and wastewater systems per local standards.
• Participate in internal design reviews and help schedule and prioritize tasks.
• Support engineering reports, feasibility studies, and master planning documents.
