Job summary

MacDon Industries Ltd. is seeking passionate engineers to help design the next generation of productive harvesting equipment.

You will work in a team environment with engineers, technologists, team leaders, prototype shop and test personnel, interacting across supply chain, marketing, product support and manufacturing. You will participate in projects, develop CAD models and drawings, perform engineering analyses, mitigate design risks, and support prototype builds with field-testing in mind.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed an accredited engineering degree.
• Experience with machinery manufacturing or design projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Participation as a team member in project activities as assigned.
• Develop detailed product designs to meet objectives of performance, cost, durability, etc.
• Development of CAD models, drawings, and supporting information that meet MacDon requirements.
• Engineering analysis of designs using hand calculations, FEA software, and other tools.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate product design risks.
• Prototype build planning and support.
• Product verification and validation through lab and field-testing.
• Travel to support product field-testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

You need to be ready to participate in a team environment in the development and the continuous improvement of innovative, market-leading product designs. Team compositions vary and change, but consistently involve multiple engineers, technologists, team leaders, prototype shop and test personnel. There are also cross-functional interactions with supply chain, marketing, product support, publications, manufacturing, and other specialists.

Responsibilities

• Participation as a team member in project activities as assigned.
• Develop detailed product designs to meet objectives of performance, cost, durability, etc.
• Development of CAD models, drawings, and supporting information that meet MacDon requirements.
• Engineering analysis of designs using hand calculations, FEA software, and other tools.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate product design risks.
• Prototype build planning and support.
• Product verification and validation through lab and field-testing.
• Travel to support product field-testing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

Enrolled in or graduate of an accredited Engineering University Program

Skills & Experience

• Good interpersonal relations
• Internships or experience with projects focused on machinery manufacturing or design.
• Knowledge of mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and electro-mechanical systems
• Familiarity with Agricultural Machinery and Manufacturers.
• Familiarity with various types of agricultural production systems
• Familiarity with a CAD system, FEA software, design calculations
• Experience with hands-on skills such as welding, machining, and mechanical assembly.
