Provide services and support as a Nuclear Design Inspections (Design Engineer Inspector) in the Nuclear and Environmental Management Industry Sector focusing on Risk Management Solutions for clients such as U.S. NRC - HQ Acquisition Management Division (NRC) | The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Located In CONUS - Washington, DC and across the Mid-Atlantic region.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Design Engineer Inspectors are responsible for conducting design inspections of nuclear power reactor plants. They review design documentation, assess compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and verify the correct implementation of design bases for risk-significant components. They also document their findings and make recommendations. Design Engineer Inspectors perform meticulous reviews of design documentation, scrutinizing blueprints, specifications, and engineering drawings of nuclear power reactor plants. Their main objective is to ensure the correct implementation of design bases for risk-significant components, assessing compliance with rigorous safety standards. All findings and observations during inspections are documented in detail, and recommendations are made to enhance design integrity and safety. Collaboration with other team members is critical to address any concerns or issues that may arise during inspections, and verification of the safety functions and capabilities of selected components is a primary responsibility.
Design Engineer Inspectors should have at least 5 years experience in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. They need to understand design and safety standards.
Skills / Abilities / Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications
A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, preferably in nuclear or mechanical engineering, along with relevant experience in design inspections.
