Job summary

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture or Electrical Engineering and two years’ experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Identify the root cause of manufactured or purchased component failures.
• Knowledge in FEA, hydraulics, electronics, engine systems, statistics, strength of materials, durability and serviceability of products.
• Create robust design, identify changes early in the design progress and to recognize design commonality.
• Provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships.
• Operate simple mechanics tools and wrenches, assembly hand tools, drill press, lathe, band saw and assembly power tools.
• Effectively manage time and resources to meet the needs and schedules of internal customers and respond promptly to production questions.
• Understand material strengths, fatigue strength, and manufacturability to ensure correct configuration and materials.

Responsibilities

• Utilize engineering principles and industry knowledge to analyze data and develop CAD models to optimize design opportunities and possess FEA skills.
• Apply technical knowledge to invent, design, document, build and test new solutions for assigned industry using CAD tools.
• Use SolidWorks, PDMWorks, ECN tools and other design tools to produce prototype parts.
• Work in a team environment and assist team members to meet goals.
• Coordinate, execute, and review results from machine testing to ensure designs meet performance and reliability criteria.
• Grow relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional partners to successfully execute projects.
