Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for an onsite role in Downers Grove, IL. You will assist in the design, development, and application of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, and actuators, while creating drawings and ECNs.

The role involves collaborating with diverse groups, supporting product validation, and maintaining existing products. A BS in Mechanical Engineering is required, with CAD tools like SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, or CATIA preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
3D CAD software experience preferred.
Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to Customers, Suppliers, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality departments.
Support design, development and application of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, electromechanical actuators, and other Rexnord Aerospace products.
Create product definition packages, solid models, drawings and ECNs.
Support development of product validation packages.
Participate in RBS events and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain and support existing products including non-conformance dispositions and returned material analysis.

Work Model:

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Key Accountabilities

Provide technical support to Customers, Suppliers, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Quality departments
Under the guidance of more senior engineers, support the design, development and application of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, electromechanical actuators, and other Rexnord Aerospace products
Create product definition packages, solid models, drawings and ECN’S
Support development of product validation packages
Participate in RBS events (the company’s operating management system based on the Toyota Production System and the Strategy Deployment Process - advanced Hoshin Planning methodology)
Maintain/support existing products (ie. Non-conformance dispositions and returned material analysis)

Job Requirements, Capabilities, and Success Factors

0 - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Previous experience designing mechanical components is preferred
Requires Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIA is preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced MS Excel skills
Experience with Design of Experiments is preferred
High level of interpersonal skills
Capable of working within a team structure
Detail oriented and self-motivated
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to create and interpret drawings and specifications
Knowledge of metals and composites; materials background a plus
Exposure to machining, heat treating, and/or grinding is a plus

Expected Base Salary Range

[$80,000 – $100,000]

The salary range provided is intended to display the value of the company's base pay compensation for this position. Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.
