Job summary

API Heat Transfer in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Design Engineer to support customer engagements with designs, calculations, drawings, and BOMs for conventional and complex initiatives. Use ASME code calculations and develop calculation tools as needed.

You will create layouts with cost/manufacturability in mind and collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, application engineering, and sales to deliver projects. Strong design and Lean manufacturing experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or BS Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET).
• Proficiency in Solidworks.
• Collaborative, analytical, and solution-focused.
• Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
• ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel design experience; Heat Exchangers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use ASME code calculations to fulfill complex customer specifications, and develop calculation tools.
• Prepare layouts for components and subassemblies with cost and manufacturability focus.
• Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, application engineering, and sales to deliver customer projects.
• Validate outputs and analyses to produce world-class products.
• Set project priorities and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define scope and determine costs and manufacturing feasibility.
