Job summary

Scope Labs, a design‑forward tech company in New York, is seeking a Design Engineer to bridge design and development. You’ll craft expressive, accessible interfaces, prototype in React/TypeScript, and contribute to a cohesive design language for our products and clients.

You’ll collaborate with designers and engineers to ship production‑quality interfaces, shape design systems, and explore branding across marketing pages and campaigns.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in product design, frontend development, or hybrid roles.
• Strong portfolio of polished digital products and high-quality frontend implementations.
• Experience building with React or React frameworks like Next.js.
• Proficiency in Figma, including components and design-system workflows.
• Understanding of motion design principles and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Own features from ambiguity to execution, defining interaction model and design foundation.
• Design in Figma and code, delivering polished interfaces and production-ready front-end code.
• Shape user experience with information architecture and responsive behavior.
• Craft delightful experiences with motion and tactile feedback.
• Build reusable components and design-system foundations.
• Establish front-end best practices and accessibility standards.
• Prototype rapidly using React, Claude Code, or Figma.
• Contribute to branding, landing pages, and marketing materials.
• Improve design-engineering workflows and shared libraries.
• Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and present decisions.
• Own your work with strong ownership and risk management.
