Pratt Miller, an Oshkosh company, is seeking an entry-level design engineer focused on mechanical design using CAD and FEA within a team environment. You'll work from concept through detailed drawings under guidance from a design team lead.

Candidates should have a BS in Engineering, experience with parametric 3D modeling and GD&T, and strong communication. Travel may be required; US citizenship or permanent residency is required.

OVERVIEW:

Entry level design engineer with core responsibilities including product and system design and development. The main focus will be mechanical design using CAD and structural analysis (FEA), supported by systems modeling to substantiate the lower-level decisions. This position’s responsibilities will span from initial concepts through detailed drawing execution while working within a project team under the close guidance of a design team lead.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & SKILLS:

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Vehicle and Product System Design & Development System physics modeling and characterization CAD system and component concept development and packaging Application of linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization Technical drawing generation Prepare and present project status reports Test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R) Project Support Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE and project management skills Prepare technical specifications for use by Pratt & Miller Engineering Develop testing methods and procedures for use by Pratt & Miller Engineering Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

8am-4pm core (minimum) work hours (typically 45hrs per week average) Project surge support and additional effort as needed to achieve deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work will typically be performed in a team-based office environment. Some travel may be required for customer and supplier meetings, off-site training, off-site testing, and attendance at industry conferences.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $64,500.00 - $103,500.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
