Job summary

Upside Innovations is seeking a Design Engineer in West Chester, OH to transform customer requirements into manufacturable access and canopy designs. You will interpret drawings, create detailed CAD models in Onshape, and collaborate with Sales and PM to deliver complete design solutions.

The role emphasizes aluminum fabrication, BOM creation, and lifecycle support from order through production release, requiring strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum two years of experience using 3D CAD software.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural drawings, construction documents, and engineering plans.
• Experience creating fabrication and assembly drawings and bills of materials.

Responsibilities

• Review orders, drawings, and specifications to determine scope and design requirements.
• Develop aluminum access and canopy solutions using standard, modified standard, and custom designs.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and layout drawings using Onshape as primary CAD platform.
• Produce customer-facing layouts and approval packages; generate BOMs and shop drawings.
