Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical design activities from concept to release for manufacturing.
• Create and validate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Siemens NX; ensure GD&T conformance.
• Apply diverse manufacturing methods (machining, casting, sheet metal, welding, additive) for DFM/DFA.
• Generate BOMs and part specs; coordinate with procurement and vendors.
• Manage product data and engineering changes using PLM tools; ECOs/ECRs and releases.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, QA, supply chain to resolve DFM issues and support launches.
• Support FEA validation (or coordinate with CAE) and prototype development; perform tests.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost and shorten development cycles.
• Prepare technical documentation and assembly instructions; assist in troubleshooting.

Experience working with PLM systems and cross‑functional teams to manage product data, revisions, and release processes is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end mechanical design activities from concept generation and feasibility studies to detailed engineering and release for manufacturing.
• Create and validate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using Siemens NX (UG NX); ensure models meet GD&T and engineering standards.
• Select and apply appropriate manufacturing methodologies (machining, casting, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, additive manufacturing), and ensure design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).
• Generate BOMs, part specifications, and tolerance stacks; coordinate with procurement and vendors to source components and processes.
• Manage product data and engineering change processes using PLM tools (part creation, ECOs/ECRs, revision control, release workflows).
• Interface with cross‑functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, QA, supply chain, and vendors) to resolve design‑for‑manufacture issues and support production launches.
• Perform FEA validation (or coordinate with CAE), prototype development support, design verification & testing.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve manufacturability and shorten product development cycles.
• Prepare technical documentation, assembly instructions and support manufacturing troubleshooting and perform root‑cause analysis when required.
