Actalent is seeking a Design Engineer in Saint Louis, MO to join an innovative team working on large-scale automation, conveyor, robotics, and material handling projects. You will design and integrate custom automation solutions from concept to installation, using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with a focus on hands-on engineering and real-world problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• SolidWorks experience required.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• 2D and 3D CAD design experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to create fabrication, welding, assembly drawings.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with manufacturing, automation, or material handling projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify mechanical equipment designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Develop 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and installation packages.
• Collaborate with Automation, Controls, and Commissioning teams on layouts.
• Support material handling and automation projects from concept to deployment.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and design analysis.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
• SolidWorks experience required.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD design.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to create fabrication, welding, assembly, and manufacturing drawings.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
• Experience supporting manufacturing, automation, material handling, industrial equipment, or custom machinery projects is highly preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $44.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
