Job summary

AESSEAL is seeking a design-focused engineer to modify seals for non-standard equipment and develop bespoke seal faces using standard geometries. The role involves collaborating with senior design engineers, workshops, and customers to ensure effective solutions.

Responsibilities include creating SAP material codes and BOMs, providing testing support, and developing design procedures to improve efficiency and reliability across standard and customized products.

• Modify standard seals for non-standard equipment.
• Design bespoke seal faces using standard geometry for non-standard applications.
• Create new SAP material codes and BOMs to aid SAP administration.
• Liaise with internal/external customers (end users, sales engineers, distributors) to support their needs.
• Coordinate with seal assembly workshop and manufacturing inspection on engineering issues.
• Provide design technical support and testing assistance for standard and special seals.
• Develop and implement design department procedures.
• Respond to breakdowns with on-site problem solving to resolve issues quickly.

Job Description:Modification of standard seals to suit non-standard equipmentUsing standard seal face geometry design for new machinery applications / equipmentBespoke seal design using standard seal face geometry for non-standard applications & equipment.On an “as needed” basis working with the senior design engineers to create bespoke seal face geometry / design ideas.Design of special test equipment to suit specific applicationsCreation of new SAP material codes and BOM’s to aid SAP administration, as requiredLiaison with internal and external customers (including end users, sales engineers, and distributors) via telephone, email and other communication channels to support their needs.Liaison with seal assembly workshop and manufacturing inspection departments on engineering issues for both standard and special seals; solving problems and agreeing concessions as per ISO procedures.Providing assistance to the seal assembly team on testing issues for standard and special sealsProviding assistance to the application engineering team on seal enquiries/dimensional fitDevelopment and implementation of design department proceduresReacting to breakdown situations providing design technical support (if required) to ensure the problem is resolved as quickly as possible.Develop an understanding of seal failure analysis and how seal design affects performance “on-site” at the customer.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret detailed drawingsOther duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice, as determined by business needs.AESSEAL is an equal opportunity employer.
