Job Description

This position is responsible for the delivery of engineering services, from conceptual design through construction completion of HVAC, Plumbing, and other contract services offered by the business.

Responsibilities
  • Execute projects from initial construction documents through completion with minimal supervision.
  • Perform engineering calculations, energy analysis, and equipment selection for HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Design complex layouts for ducting, piping, and control systems using 2D and 3D modeling software.
  • Apply principles of psychrometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and control sequences to applications engineering.
  • Complete all required energy compliance, LEED documentation, and basic sequences of operation.
  • Manage field engineering tasks including site surveys, trade coordination, and technical problem-solving.
  • Coordinate design and installation efforts across project management, construction, and service departments.
  • Lead small project design meetings and delegate tasks effectively to BIM support teams.
  • Maintain project schedules and task deadlines while aligning with core business drivers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Detailed physical design experience in the development of mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
  • Proficiency with design software tools in executing 2D and 3D layout models.
  • Experience in the review of mechanical equipment, including outlines and coordinating and developing the associated deliverables.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other teams.
  • Experience with LEED requirements.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Prior intern experience with mechanical contractor and/or engineering consultant.
Desired
  • 2-5 years of experience with a mechanical contractor and/or engineering consultant.
  • EIT Certificate.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit, or similar drafting software.

Hours

This is a non‑exempt position from Monday through Friday. Work hours are as established by the local manager and generally begin and end between 7:00 am to 8:00 am start and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm end, with one‑hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary per business needs.

Competitive Wages

$43 to $58 per hour. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job‑related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
