Job summary

SideShift in New York City is seeking a Design Engineer who can blend design and code to ship polished product experiences. You’ll prototype in code, shape interactions, and build reusable components with attention to detail.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, engineering, and founders, owning how SideShift looks, feels, and functions. A portfolio demonstrating exceptional product craft is essential, along with 2+ years in related roles and strong React/TypeScript skills.

SideShift is building the operating system for the creator economy.

We connect brands with creators and make it dramatically easier to discover talent, run campaigns, track performance, and pay creators. Today, more than 1M creators and 3,000+ brands use SideShift, and more than $100M has been paid to creators through the platform. Our web app is at the center of the customer experience. Brands use SideShift to launch campaigns, discover and interact with creators, and track performance.

The Role

We're looking for a Design Engineer who can move seamlessly between design and code.

You’ll turn ideas into polished, production-ready experiences—prototyping in code, shaping interactions, building reusable components, and sweating the details that make great products feel great.

You’ll work closely with product, design, engineering, and the founders, with significant ownership over how SideShift looks, feels, and functions.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years in design engineering, product design, frontend engineering, or a combination

• Have built and implemented design systems from the ground up

• Strong proficiency with React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

• Strong visual and interaction design skills

• Proficiency with Figma or similar design tools

• Excellent product sense and attention to detail

• Ability to prototype quickly and turn ideas into production-quality work

• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional product craft

The Process

• Initial convo with Drew Levin, Co-founder & CTO;

• Technical conversation with Neev Jain, Founding Engineer;

• Work Trial -- we invite you to a paid 2-3 day working session with the team. We've found this is the best way for candidates and the SideShift team to feel confident in making a decision;

• Offer stage! After agreeing on employment terms, we'll talk to 3 references and send over final documents for signature.

Location: New York City — In Person 5 days per week

Compensation: $130,000–$180,000 + equity, depending on level.
