Job summary

Complete Structural Consulting, Inc. seeks an entry-level Design Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN team, working with senior staff on diverse projects and contributing to design, calculations, CAD work, and client deliverables.

This full-time, on-site role offers exposure to building structures, adherence to ASCE and AISC codes, and opportunities for professional growth, with benefits including PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
• FE exam must be passed within one year of hire or already obtained.
• Previous structural engineering internship or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of structural steel connections, various building structures and foundation systems, stair & rails, steel detailing coordination, and general structural engineering consulting.
• Collaborate with engineers to analyze, design, and optimize structures for diverse projects.
• Assist in performing structural calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Contribute to CAD modeling, drafting, and preparing shop documents.
• Attend project meetings, workshops, and training sessions to broaden your knowledge base.

About the Job:

The Design Engineer is an entry-level position that collaborates with seasoned staff engineers on multiple diverse projects ranging in size and scope. Your skills and knowledge will contribute directly to the deliverables and outcomes of successful projects for the company. This is a full-time, on-site position located in any of our offices in Indianapolis, IN; Denver, CO; Jacksonville, FL; or Washington, DC.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design of structural steel connections, various building structures and foundation systems, stair & rails, steel detailing coordination, and general structural engineering consulting.
• Collaborate with engineers to analyze, design, and optimize structures for diverse projects.
  Support the team in problem-solving and proposing innovative solutions to engineering dilemmas.
• Assist in performing structural calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Contribute to CAD modeling, drafting, and preparing shop documents.
• Attend project meetings, workshops, and training sessions to broaden your knowledge base.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering or related technical field is required.
• Passed the FE exam or must pass the FE exam within 1 year of hire.
• Previous structural engineering or internship work experience preferred.

Skills:

• Experience with AutoCAD, Mathcad, RAM Elements, RAM Connections, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel preferred.
• Knowledgeable in ASCE Standards and AISC Codes.
• Connection design, stair & rail design, building design, and steel detailing experience are a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
