We are seeking Design Engineers to assist our teams with a multitude of Outside Plant fiber and coax design projects. The right candidate will be an outstanding problem solver, critical thinker, team player, and have a strong understanding of fiber and coax design. Responsibilities

  • Design site plans for Outside Plant (OSP) fiber and coaxial cable routes.
  • Understand survey field notes and sketches to create new or update existing designs using various software platforms as required.
  • Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings.
  • Generation of bills of materials, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation for design.
  • Perform cost analysis to determine the most cost effective and efficient manner of the placement of communications facilities.
  • Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements.
  • Understanding of easements and rights-of-way and ability to read and understand maps, as-built, construction drawings and utility records.
  • Complete assigned work while maintaining an elevated level of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Work with project managers, design engineers, and QC team to meet deadlines.
  • Focus on productivity and accuracy of designs in a high production environment.
  • Adherence to customer specifications.
  • Communicate with the customer and fellow employees in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technologies, Geographic Information System (GIS), CAD Drafting, or similar preferred.
  • Prior experience designing cable TV and RF experience a plus.
  • Experience with Drafting and Design software platforms such as: Lode Data, ArcFM, ArcGIS, Vetro, Magellan, Small World, PNI, Netwin, Crescent Link, AutoCAD, FOCUS, BentleyComms, GE Smallworld, SpatialNet, or IRIS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various web-based platforms is required, along with the ability to quickly adapt to new software tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ambitious and self-motivated with a strong drive to succeed.
  • Must be a great communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in project scope and shifts in priority.
  • Superior time management and attention to detail.

Shift is full-time Monday-Friday 6:00 am-2:30 pm CST. Must be flexible and willing and able to work outside normal business hours, as necessary.
