Job summary

Belimo is seeking a Design Drafter 1 in Danbury, CT to prepare detailed mechanical drawings and assist with fabrication solutions. You will work under the Group Leader, Customizing Retrofit, producing 2D/3D drafts and supporting 3D printing projects.

The role emphasizes accuracy, documentation, and collaboration with senior staff. Ideal candidates have an associate degree or equivalent experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks, MS Office, and 3D printing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required or High School Diploma.
• Proficiency with CAD programs such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Ability to create and modify 2D/3D drawings and 3D printing.
• Strong MS Office skills and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings using CAD software.
• Review project specifications, blueprints, and sketches to draft accurately.

Job description

Summary

The Design Drafter 1 is responsible for preparing drawings and assist in providing mechanical and fabrication solutions. The Design Drafter 1 position reports to the Group Leader, Customizing Retrofit. The employee bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

What You’ll Do

Major Duties

• Produce detailed technical drawings using CAD software, reflecting design specifications.
• Review and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and sketches to develop accurate drafts.
• Collaborate with senior draftsperson to ensure accurate designs.
• Update and modify existing drawings as needed.
• Maintain organized records of all drafts and revisions to facilitate project tracking and communication
• Produce 3D printing projects.
• Review and maintain the Bill of Materials of assemblies for accuracy and correct disposition of inventory.

Other Duties

• Accountable for compliance with work time regulations and departmental processes in place.
• Promote and maintain a safe work environment, housekeeping, clean and healthy area (HSSE).
• Temporary assignments as floater in different assembly teams.

Who You Are

• Associate degree required or equivalent experience (High School Diploma required)
• Knowledge of CAD programs (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and other relevant design tools.
• Software skills in MS Office.
• 3D printing experience.
• Professional demeanor with ability to multi-task effectively.
• Experience in both 2D and 3D drafting
• Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional manner.
• Deal with time constraints and deadlines; prioritizing schedules and projects; self-actuated; sense of urgency.
• Positive attitude with a disposition to learn and grow.
• PC-Skills required
• Average manual dexterity (Hand to eye coordination)
• Mechanical ability necessary.
• Must be able to lift to 40 lbs.

Belimo is committed to paying all employees in a fair, equitable and transparent manner. The base pay for this position ranges from $24 - $27 hourly with a target performance bonus of 5% of an employee’s annual base salary. Compensation is based on several factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. Belimo is a total compensation company which includes a comprehensive benefits package including a full range of medical, financial, and other competitive benefits.
