Job summary

Four Hands, an Austin-based leader in furniture and décor, seeks a Director of Product Design & Development to translate our brand vision into seasonal collections that are cohesive, commercially relevant, and unmistakably Four Hands.

This senior role combines design strategy, material development, and team leadership, partnering with Merchandising, Sourcing, Marketing, and Sales to create design-forward products that meet margin, manufacturability, and launch timing goals.

Qualifications

• BA or BBA in Industrial Design or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in international product development and design leadership within home furnishings.
• Demonstrated track record building and leading creative teams delivering design-forward products.

Responsibilities

• Translate annual creative brief into seasonal design story across categories.
• Guide form language, material, finish, hardware, and category coverage before development.
• Drive the creative roadmap so cross-functional teams can work from a shared foundation.
• Identify new categories and materials to expand the assortment.
• Enforce brand standards across all categories and reviews work at design meetings.
