Job summary

A-1 Global Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Director of Design to lead the Design Department, ensuring design activities align with production schedules and customer commitments.

The role partners with the VP of Design to drive strategic initiatives, improve workflows, and maintain regulatory and engineering standards. The position requires extensive experience in truss construction/design, leadership abilities, and proficiency with design software such as Alpine and MiTek, with office-based duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, construction management or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in truss construction and design or related field.
• Experience with wall panel design, material optimization, and hardware estimating preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Design Department and serve as the primary operational leader for design activities.
• Provide leadership, coaching, accountability, and professional development for design personnel.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure design projects meet schedules, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Develop and monitor departmental performance metrics and report to VP of Design.
• Support design and engineering work to meet customer commitments and department workload.
