Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Novi, MI seeks a design engineer to advance HVAC climate systems for passenger vehicles. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of hands-on experience and a solid understanding of physics-based component requirements and thermal performance.

You will collaborate with the packaging and design teams, establish critical requirements, manage design updates, coordinate change orders, and support test planning to ensure on-time delivery within the product development

Responsibilities

• Establish physics-based component requirements (HVAC unit and climate performance).
• Coordinate with packaging team on design and thermal system goals; establish critical requirements.
• Manage design updates within area of responsibility; balance interface requirements.
• Collaborate with design/release team to process change orders.
• Take ownership and implement component changes through change management.
• Establish and maintain supplier contacts for component issues.
• Work with test engineers to develop test plans.
• Ensure deliverables are completed on time to support product development.

Responsibilities:

• Establish physics-based component requirements (HVAC unit and climate performance).
• Work with packaging team on design, coordinate thermal system goals and ensure thermal systems critical requirements are established and met.
• Responsible for design updates, as required, within area of responsibility in the thermal system. Work with interface teams to balance requirements as needed.
• Work with design/release team to process change orders.
• Take ownership and implement component changes as part of change management process.
• Establish and maintain supplier contacts for any component issues and or communications.
• Work with test engineers to establish test plans.
• Responsible for completing deliverables on-time to support product development process.
