UNICEF is seeking a seasoned Drupal/UX engineer to design and prototype a global CAMH accountability platform. You will gather requirements, craft information architecture, and build accessible, component-based interfaces using Drupal and Bootstrap.
You will contribute to multilingual theming, develop modules, and support CI/CD pipelines with Behat, Travis CI, or Jenkins. The contract runs 15 November 2026 to 14 November 2027, remote from Nairobi, with deliverable-based milestones and future
UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential. It is a United Nations agency with a mandate to support the realization of the rights of every child, including those most disadvantaged. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) is an institutional priority, and through funding from Wellcome Trust, UNICEF and WHO are jointly developing a child and adolescent mental health accountability mechanism to support the public registration, monitoring, and implementation of government commitments.
This 12-month consultancy (15 November 2026 to 14 November 2027) sits within UNICEF's Global Programme Division, Mental Health team, based remotely from Nairobi. The assignment is deliverable-based and time-bound. The primary focus is the design and development of a prototype for the UNICEF-WHO Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) Accountability Mechanism, a global platform that provides a transparent way to monitor commitments, track implementation, and share progress on children's mental health. After the prototype and launch milestones, the role broadens to cover ongoing MHPSS design and development support, platform maintenance, and technical improvements across MHPSS digital products.
The duty station is Nairobi, Kenya, and the role is designated as remote. The contract runs from 15 November 2026 to 14 November 2027. The assignment is temporary, time-bound, and deliverable-based; programme requirements beyond 14 November 2027 will be reviewed separately.
