Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Design Coordinator to oversee project coordination from inception to closeout in a fast-paced environment. You will liaise between field sales agents and internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction and on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will manage submittals, documentation, and cross-functional communications while maintaining schedules and budgets across multiple projects. The role is in-office with potential Friday work-from-home days, located at our Chicago, IL site.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project coordination or management in a design/creative environment.

Job description

As a Design Coordinator, you will report to a Manager of Project Coordination and ensure effective and efficient coordination toward project goals in a dynamic and demanding environment. This role oversees all aspects of a project to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion. You will manage expectations by coordinating and communicating project scope, cost, schedule, vendors, and the production of contractual deliverables. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between field Sales Agents and internal teams, delivering exceptional customer service from project inception to post-installation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as architecture, interior design, project management, or engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in project coordination or management in a design or creative environment.
• Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to analyze data or architectural drawings and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in internal data systems and computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data, write concise reports and emails, and explain complex issues clearly.

Work Environment

The role is primarily in-office at our recently renovated office in the Merch Mart. Typically, Fridays can be a work-from-home day once established in the role, subject to approval. The company offers a small team atmosphere with the resources of a large organization, backed by Armstrong Worldwide Solutions. The project workload ranges from 65 to 120 projects with approximately 200 emails per day. Projects have quick turnarounds of 3-4 weeks, with some moving at a slower pace. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $35.58/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
