HF Sinclair in Tulsa, OK is seeking for a Design Construction Coordinator to provide technical support to the Capital Projects organization on assigned projects under minimal supervision while managing project documentation, overseeing contractors, and ensuring assigned refinery capital projects adhere to safety protocols, design specifications, and budgets.

Job Duties
  • Provides day-to-day technical support ensuring continuous improvements to the function integrity, reliability, safety and environmental integrity of the refinery operating assets
  • Coordinates with operations in scheduling equipment for repairs and construction
  • Creates, organizes, and updates documentation of equipment for availability to Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering department personnel as needed
  • Collaborate with project team to review CAD models and drawings, ensuring proposed designs are safe, efficient, and constructible
  • Act as a liaison between project managers, field contractors, and operations to monitor progress, resolve field conflicts, and prevent delays
  • Support document control by responding to Requests for Information, tracking submittals and field changes, and ensuring as-built drawings are evergreened
  • Assist in tracking project expenditures, veryfing contractor invoices, and tracking project procurement activities
  • Assist Project Managers with the tracking of Instrumentation equipment lists as it is received in the warehouse and assure that the correct Instrumentation equipment was received
  • Ensure all new Instrumentation equipment is calibrated per design and includes all calibration certificates
  • Assist with ensuring projects are following all required EP’s and proper Industry Standards

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of petrochemical refinery or similar experience with experience in project execution and start-up and field maintenance.

A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred Education Level:

An Associate’s Degree or technical training in a related field plus 10 years experience is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and years of on the job experience with 3 years directly related to assigned equipment.

Required Skills

Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one-lines and panel schedules, loop diagrams schematics, conduit and cable schedules, plot plans, and other drawings associated with a construction work package. A working knowledge of problem solving techniques and field instrumentation used in the refinery or petrochemical industry including field and shop repair practices and ability to apply this knowledge.

Preferred Skills:

Instrumentation calibration and equipment start-up and commissioning experience desired.

Responsible for the work supervision of approximately two to four nonexempt Technicians contractors as needed.

Work Conditions

Office and field based. Warehouse/ plant environment, petroleum refinery and out-of-doors environment based (including elevated surfaces up to 200 feet), Required to work in all temperatures and subject to varying weather conditions. May be exposed to dust, dirt, mud, water, and petroleum products, fumes, etc. Outdoor duties under wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Industrial environment, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, steam lines, electricity, confined spaces and rotating equipment. Must be available to work a flexible schedule (e.g. rotating shifts, call outs).

Physical Requirements
